My interest in barbecue started as a kid growing up in Colorado and going on overnight camp outs with my grand dad “Papa”. Papa could cook anything over a fire. From a full breakfast in a cast iron skillet to delicious trout for dinner that we had caught during the day. My love for outdoor cooking grew over the years moving on to cooking in a dutch oven and trying out different recipes. I bought a cheap offset smoker at Academy in 2008 and I was hooked on making barbecue. Family and friends kept telling me the food was pretty good so I thought why not find a way to make a few bucks doing what I love. So in June 2020 we established Gray Acre BBQ, LLC. The plan is to share my love for good ole Texas barbecue with others by catering for events and parties.
